On these roads

The Ferrari question on this coast is rarely whether. It is which. The range splits by architecture, not by price: the mid-engined two-seaters — 296, F8, 488, SF90 — carry one rated bag and exist for the road itself, taken early, before the harbour towns fill. The front-engined convertibles — Portofino, Roma Spider — seat four and carry two bags, which turns lunch two towns away from an ambition into a plan. Between 600 and 1,000 hp, the numbers stop deciding anything here. The body style decides the day.

What stays constant across all ten is how the keys change hands. Street level, at your address or at a point named before you book — no ramps, no meeting in a basement. One rated bag means one bag: a week's luggage travels by transfer, and both go on the same request, so the arithmetic is settled before you land rather than in the arrivals hall.

Then there is the one Ferrari with a winter address. Four seats, three rated bags, 725 hp, four driven wheels: the Purosangue is the only card of the ten the network delivers in the Alps, from December to April, equipped to Savoie's winter rules before it leaves. The other nine wait for the coast to open again.
